Makes you want to have a baby, when the Killians throw a shower!
We had a really great time helping Raylene out with her best bud Megan's shower. Many friends showed and she received some of the CUTEST baby boy stuff! We are excited for hime to finally come.
We had some yummy treats as well! Mom Merrell made the best baby cup cakes with brown and blue frosting. We also did mini sandwhiches, fruit kabobs, a spectacular veggie platter and my mom made enough carrot bars to feed the neighborhood. We really love Megan and wish her the best in her upcoming calling as mom!

Prop. 8 and 102
Hey Brad here, I have been reading the news and seeing what is going on in Cali and Utah about the protests against prop 8. There has been gays spitting on old ladies and white powder sent to our temples just because we stand up for what is right!!!! We were not the only church to donate money for this cause, the Catholics, Baptists, Jews, Evangelicals, and many other churches were involved. But because we are the most organized and believe so strongly in marriage we are the ones to be targeted. It seems like we can't escape persecution, it has happened to us before and I guess it will continue to happen to us but we will preserver we always have and we always will. I can't help think that the end is near but I hope its not but if it is I hope I can be ready. I know that we are suppose to be a quiet people but I'm sick of being quiet and doing nothing I feel like we need to fight back and destroy the wicked, but I guess we already have by voting for prop. 8 and 102. I feel like organizing a modern day Mormon battalion and marching on these wicked and Godless people and protest back against them and fighting for whats right. Think of the power we would have organizing and fighting back, showing the world that we are a force for righteousness. But then again I guess we already did that by voting for prop. 8 and 102. We have won the battle for now but Satan will not quit and neither can we. They will try and get the California supreme court to rule on this but they can't legislate from the bench the people have spoken and they are for marriage, they are for righteousness. Keep fighting for whats right brethren and sisters don't let up and fight till the end.

One day when I am feeling adventerous

http://whatscookingamerica.net/PegW/Fondant.htm
MM (Marshmallow) Fondant Recipe
16 ounces white mini-marshmallows (use a good quality brand)
2 to 5 tablespoons water
2 pounds icing sugar (please use C&H Cane Powdered Sugar for the best results)
½ cup Crisco shortening (you will be digging into it so place in a very easily accessed bowl)
NOTE: Please be careful, this first stage can get hot.
Melt marshmallows and 2 tablespoons of water in a microwave or double boiler: Put the bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds, open microwave and stir, back in microwave for 30 seconds more, open microwave and stir again, and continue doing this until melted. It usually takes about 2 ½ minutes total. Place 3/4 of the powdered sugar on the top of the melted marshmallow mix.
Now grease your hands GENEROUSLY - palms, backs and in between fingers, then heavily grease the counter you will be using and dump the bowl of marshmallow/sugar mixture in the middle. (By the way, this recipe is also good for your hands. When I’m done, they are baby soft.)
Start kneading like you would bread dough. You will immediately see why you have greased your hands. If you have children in the room they will either laugh at you or look at you with a questioning expression. You might even hear a muttered, “What are you doing?”
Keep kneading, this stuff is sticky at this stage! Add the rest of the powdered sugar and knead some more. Re-grease your hands and counter when the fondant is sticking. If the mix is tearing easily, it is to dry, so add water (about ½ tablespoon at a time then knead it in). It usually takes me about 8 minutes to get a firm smooth elastic ball so that it will stretch without tearing when you apply it to the cake.

Its best if you can let it sit, double wrapped, overnight (but you can use it right away if there are no tiny bits of dry powdered sugar). If you do see them, you will need to knead and maybe add a few more drops of water.
Prepare the fondant for storing by coating it with a good layer of Crisco shortening, wrap in a plastic- type wrap product and then put it in a re-sealable or Ziploc bag. Squeeze out as much air as possible.
MM Fondant will hold very well in the refrigerator for weeks. If I know that I have a cake to decorate, I usually make 2 batches on a free night during the week so it is ready when I need it. Take advantage of the fact that this fondant can be prepared well in advance.

Camping maiden Voyage, trailer style. The Rim.
We had such a great time this past weekend on our camping voyage with the Bowles. We went and celebrated Rays birthday and had some time in the fresh air. We went shooting and had the quad and had the BEST food ever, and enjoyed having roaring fires.

Jack is passed out, after a long run in the woods with his pal Hayden. They chased the quad for miles.
For Raylene's birthday I got her some makeup and hair stuff from TIGI. We made yummy peach cobbler in the dutch oven and had yummy melted cookie dough icecream. Happy Birthday RAY!
I love hammocks. SO does mom and Brookie.
Raylene and Brad Hit an elk on their drive to the cabin friday night. Brad sped up after he saw it and hit the Elk with the side mirror. After turning around they could see the Elk guess it survived with a nasty head injury. If they were going any slower the elk would have been hit head on and would have more then a broken mirror.
I am still reading the HOST. its long and not as great and I dont have the hours to put into reading it. I love camping, and sitting next to a huge fire.

I love this picture. Its a classic.
Brookie and parents on a Quad ride. She is so funny, with the bumps and speed Brookie is able to fall asleep on the quad while they ride!
We had to have the whole family! the dogs ran for miles and each time would come back and find us. Both Jack and Hayden had a BLAST!
It was freezing cold. Our trailer, the maiden voyage, wasnt as functional as we thought. We had not heater, water, and TV. What. We are camping! who needs that stuff?!

I took this picture as we were walking to Shane's funeral this past weekend. What a HUGE support and turnout. And although it doesnt make it any eaiser to say goodbye to such a sweet friend, father, son, or husband, it is really neat to know that just one person was able to make such a huge inpact in so many lives.
Um did I tell you that my mom is the greatest! She has single handedly helped me with my Eve of Excellence coming up in a week. We have sown purses for each gal, using this really cute new pattern and the invites are out and ready to go! I will keep you updated on how the rest of this will be going!
This nursery is to cute for words. I went to a friends house down the street to learn how to make these AWSOME!!!! burros ( crock pot style) and wanted to snap a few pix. Yep! that is brookie on the floor camoed. She had a blast and I want to do this room for my mom!

The Day Before the Storm
Brad here- Well I know I don't blog too much but I have to say something about what is going to occur tomorrow. I hope McCain is elected, but if not our society will be very different from the one we have now. If Obama is elected we will have more restrictions on the very freedoms we hold dear. He will take away our constitutional right to own firearms, our freedom of speech and freedom of the press. He'll adopt all the liberal wackadoo doctrine that the leaders of congress have been preaching and try to make us a marxist society. I hope all of this doesn't happen but if it does we need to stand up and fight for our constitutional rights. We need to fight for what made this country great!!! Obama will lead us in a direction where we don't want to go and tax us more then we have ever been taxed. I don't know if it is a good idea to tax us during a depression and let the government have all the money and control!!! This is a government by the people and for the people not a government for the government and by the government, which will happen if obama is elected. Of course there is light at the end of the tunnel for us, things were like this back in 1980 when we had one of the worst presidents of all time Jimmy Carter running things and looked what happened, he lost in a landslide to Ronald Reagan one of the Best Presidents of All Time!!!! So we might have to suffer through 4 years of socialistic agend but at the end we will have another Ronald Reagan hopefully!!! So Brothern hold tight to your Guns and Scriptures because is what will get us through this time of Obama.

I stole this too.
This cannot be happening. Someone, hurry--pinch me. Seriously, I have been hysterical ever since I heard of this scandal. Obama may not even be "eligible" for the presidency, because as of today, he still is unable to prove that he is a "natural-born citizen" of the United States of America. The constitution says that a candidate for president not only has to be at least 35 years old, but he or she has to be A CITIZEN of the UNITED STATES! DUHHH! I'm freaking out, and you will too once you watch this interview with PA attorney and life-long democrat (who's suing Obama over this)...
I've already emailed every talk radio and FoxNews program (no point in sending it to the rest of the Obama-mania-media) I can get an email address for. You all should, too! We've got to bring this "October Surprise" to the forefront, and we've got to do it quick!
NO Socialism! NO NON-citizens violating the US constitution and taking over our this great country! NOBAMA! Only six days to go...

Brimhall Ward's 2008 Golf Tournement/fundraiser
We has such a blast playing in this years best ball tourney. I played worse than Brad, who has very little swinging experience. Lucky for us Mom was Tiger woods this past weekend so we got to drop at her drives, puts, and chips. It was a beautiful day.
This was Dads shot.
Brad, is saying he loves golf!

Thanksgiving is always skipped I think! Really, is it necessary to have the Christmas music, lights and decorations up 2 months before the season? As I am older and see all the situations around me dealing with broken families, divorces and loved ones who have passed away, Thanksgiving truly is a time that I like to reflect on how grateful I am to have a whole family that has been preserved from alot of the crappy situations. I look forward to seeing the dozen or more new grand babies in the family and also to enjoy those fun foot races and arm wrestling matches that my moms side of the family always has. I am grateful for my husband who is really, really patient. guys! imagine being married to me! it would be really hard! and he is truly wonderful and loves me even when I sleep on my curly hair and wake up with mascara everywhere and a huge afro. I am grateful for the gosple and hope that it can continue to teach on humble me as I cruise through this busy time in our lives.
